Faithful. This characteristic comes to mind when I think of fathers.
But my father abandoned me for part of my childhood. When my dad reappeared in my life, he was a self-proclaimed atheist. He held no belief in God, much less the idea of a heavenly Father (or any father) who loves and never leaves His children.
Then after sixteen years of praying for my father, he finally believed in God and accepted Christ as Savior.
He passed away in 2010. I miss so many things about my dad and loved him...
“There is light at the end of the tunnel.” This saying is intended to relieve our angst while experiencing difficulties, reminding us that things will improve. But, what about the Tunnel of Loss that occurs when you lose a child; in some cases, your only child or all your children?
Who is this unheralded mother? She's a Tummy Mommy. In case you are unfamiliar with this term, it is a description of a birth mother, a brave woman who has carried a child for months, endured the pain of delivering that child and then has her heart broken because she will not be raising that child.
